On 8 April, CLECAT's Supply Chain Security Institute met to discuss legislative and non-legislative developments in the area of land transport, aviation and cybersecurity.

CLECAT, ACEA (European Automobile Manufacturers Association), ECG (The Association of European Vehicle Logistics) and ESC (European Shippers’ Council), representing transport operators, users of freight transport services and truck, bus, van and passenger car manufacturers welcome the European Commission proposal aimed at establishing a common European framework for calculating GHG emissions of transport operations in the freight and passenger transport sector, the so-called CountEmissions EU initiative.

On 4 April, the last day of the Connecting Europe Days, the campaign leaflet ‘More Money for Transport’ was officially handed over to Magda Kopczyńska, Director General of DG MOVE.

On 20 March the European Commission presented an action plan to tackle labour and skills shortages proposing to work together with Member States and social partners to address these issues over the coming months and years. On 31 March, the European Clean Trucking Alliance – ECTA, of which CLECAT is a member – published an in-depth analysis of the challenges for financing the transition towards zero-emission trucks (ZETs) faced by the logistics industry, considering the high upfront costs of vehicles and the corresponding charging/refuelling infrastructure.
