COMMISSION INTERIM EVALUATION OF CONNECTING EUROPE FACILITY 2021-2027
On 27 August, the Commission launched a call for evidence for an interim evaluation of the current Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) 2021-2027 to assess the progress achieved and the efficiency of the programme. CEF was set up to build, develop and complete the trans-European networks in the transport, energy and digital sectors. The budget under the current CEF for transport amounts to EUR 25.8 billion, with the main objective to complete the TEN-T.
The call for evidence is open until 24 September 2024. A public consultation is planned for the third quarter of 2024, while the Commission intends to publish the evaluation at the end of the year.
In addition to the interim evaluation for the current CEF, the Commission also launched a call for evidence for an evaluation of CEF 2014-2020.
