ELP SUMMIT: LOGISTICS IN TIMES OF TRANSITION

The European Logistics Platform (ELP) is organising its first major event under the new term of the European Parliament. Taking place on the 11th of September at the Residence Palace in Brussels, the event, titled "Logistics in Times of Transition," will bring together leading voices from logistics, transport, and policy to tackle the industry's most pressing challenges and opportunities.

EP COMMITTEES RESUME WORK NEXT WEEK

On 4 September, the European Parliament’s TRAN and ENVI committees will hold their first meeting after the summer recess and the election of the Committees’ Chairs and vice-Chairs. Transport & Mobility Leuven, Ramboll Management Consulting, and the University of Antwerp have been commissioned by DG MOVE to produce a study analysing the market readiness for the expected uptake of alternative fuel heavy duty vehicles until 2030 and their corresponding infrastructure needs.

PUBLICATION ON EU DEFORESTATION RISKS

The recently published analysis by Trase, presents crucial insights into how different EU member states are exposed to deforestation risks through their imports of key commodities. TRASE is an initiative that enhances transparency in global commodity supply chains by providing data and insights to address environmental impacts, such as deforestation.

These acts are essential to enhancing the regulatory framework governing electronic information exchange in freight transport across the European Union, facilitating smoother compliance processes for economic operators and ensuring better coordination with national authorities.
