SURVEY ON MARKET READINESS FOR ALTERNATIVE FUEL HDV
Transport & Mobility Leuven, Ramboll Management Consulting, and the University of Antwerp have been commissioned by DG MOVE to produce a study analysing the market readiness for the expected uptake of alternative fuel heavy duty vehicles until 2030 and their corresponding infrastructure needs. The study would serve as input for the Commission report on the technology and market readiness for HDVs which is due in 2026, in the framework of the evaluation of the AFIR regulation.
As part of this study, a survey is being circulated to gather primary information from stakeholders to help determine:
- The overall readiness of the market to respond to the requirements set out in the new CO₂ Standards for HDVs and AFIR.
- The technological and economic maturity of different vehicle market segments and different Member State markets.
Companies (OEMs, hauliers, forwarders, shippers parking and charging operators…) are invited to fill the survey via this link. Respondents have until Friday 6 September 2024 to complete the survey.
