iCARGO Workshop at INTERMODAL ROTTERDAM

A workshop addressing 'Intelligent Logistics through Partnering in the Supply Chain' will be chaired by European freight forwarders association, CLECAT, and the European Shippers Council (ESC) at Intermodal Europe 2014, which takes place from 11-13 November at the Rotterdam AHOY.

On day two of Intermodal Europe 2014, Nicolette van der Jagt, Director General of CLECAT, and Joost Sitskoorn of the European Shippers Council (ESC) will lead the workshop, which will include several presentations from industry experts and a round table discussion.

Topics to be addressed will include the challenges that face users and operators through partnerships within the supply chain, as well as looking at some of the developments within the industry. "There is a lot of innovation in this industry, which will be discussed, such as the development of intelligent cargo to improve efficiency and sustainability and the management of complex supply chains through intelligent IT systems" explains Nicolette van der Jagt."

Presentations of some of the iCargo pilots which will demonstrate simplified and more energy-efficient management of freight flow in international rail / multimodal corridors, demonstrate e-services to integrate motorways of the sea with competitive hinterland co-modal offerings and how to improve the sustainability profile of an entire, complex supply chain through cooperative planning and execution solutions. Stora Enso and DHL/Unilever will demonstrate the first results of the pilots.

Intermodal Europe is a three day free-to-attend exhibition and conference for logistics professionals. Intermodal Europe is widely considered one of the most important events in the container shipping calendar.
